The Grande Mobilisation pour les Arts au Québec (GMAQ) has published 12 thèses pour filer le social, a manifesto aimed at positioning the GMAQ within the ongoing discussion on establishing a social safety net for the arts sector.

It is the result of the “Filer le social” discussion day, organized by the GMAQ in the fall of 2025, which took place simultaneously in five Quebec cities. These 12 theses serve as guiding principles for establishing a social safety net that is just, equitable, and grounded in the principle of collective excellence rather than the sole emphasis on individual performance. The GMAQ is banking on decentralized action and invites all individuals and organizations in the cultural and artistic community to post, distribute flyers, share on social media, and send messages to political authorities so that artists’ right to dignity is finally addressed.
