On June 22, the government launched the Stratégie québécoise de l’audiovisuel 2026-2031 : faire battre le cœur du Québec sur nos écrans.
Rolled out by the Ministry of Culture and Communications and developed in collaboration with several cultural Crown corporations and government partners, this strategy aims to ensure the vitality and influence of Quebec’s audiovisual production so that we can create, produce, and distribute our stories on all screens, placing audiences—and particularly young people—at the heart of the action.
This strategy is set against a backdrop of rapidly changing consumption habits and fierce competition from international content on digital platforms.
It aims to provide the Quebec audiovisual industry with the tools it needs to reach audiences, occupy all distribution channels, and strengthen the presence of Quebec culture both at home and abroad.
